Field Trips - Sunday, May 7th
Scenic roads meandering through valleys surrounded by the Canadian Rockies and Lakes. That’s what makes sightseeing so extraordinary around Banff National Park.
CGU is organizing two optional field trips on Sunday, May 7th for you to experience the local area. More details on the itineraries will be posted when finalized.
Option 1: Lake Louise & Natural Bridge
This 6 hour field trip will take you to the majestic Lake Louise area. From the vivid turquoise waters to the soaring peaks encircling the lake, Lake Louise is a stunning mountain setting. Fellow adventurers soak in the views from the shore, and bright red canoes float on the glacial waters. It’s hard to resist dipping a hand into the water just to see if it’s actually real.
From there you'll head to the Natural Bridge. where you can see what was once a waterfall. As a result of the pressure of the raging Kicking Horse River, it now resembles a narrow bridge.
Tour cost: $115.00 including lunch
Option 2: Discover Banff
This 3-4 hour tour will show you the best of Banff, including the historic Cave & Basin. Cave and Basin has been a special place for Indigenous Peoples for over ten thousand years and continues to be so to this day. In 1883, three railway workers happened upon the thermal springs, sparking a series of events that led to the creation of Canada’s first national park. Today, the site is a gathering place for sharing stories about conservation and the connection between people and the land in Parks Canada administered places. Visitors can enjoy interactive exhibits, short films, seasonal activities, and stunning views of the Rocky Mountains.
After your visit to the Cave & Basin, you'll tour Banff's most famous sites and locations. Don't forget your cameras!
Tour cost: $70.00
