Preaching Grace

As we emerge from the pandemic - we find the world has changed - and is constantly changing. So - where do we go from here?

The world is uncertain: The pandemic, economic strife, societal upheaval and challenges to faith keep us all in a state of constant change. Yet, we are resilient. This May, Preaching Grace Guest Speaker Dr. Joni Sancken leads Christians, clergy and curious individuals through strategies that help build resilience, heal trauma, and find hope that nurtures compassion.

On Sunday, Dr. Sancken will lead worship at Grace Presbyterian Church.

About Preaching Grace:

Preaching Grace builds Christian community, conversation and contemplation over one weekend, through three events. Each year, one world-renowned preacher is brought to Calgary to teach, guide and preach on a contemporary topics facing clergy, congregations and curious people of faith or no faith. The event is held at Grace Presbyterian Church in Calgary's Beltline District.

What did last year’s attendees say:
  • It’s Great to be stretched and have your eyes opened to new ways of reading scripture.
  • Practical. Applicable. Enriching.
  • Love hearing the alternate views. It was excellent, enjoyable and informative.
  • The quality of speakers has been excellent; very inspiring people that caused me to think in new ways.
  • It was inspiring, challenging, and thrilling. A great experience.

The Margaret and Robert Montgomery Fund joyfully provides for this event. The Montgomery Family have been long-time members of Grace and have a deep appreciation for excellence in preaching. Both Margaret and Robert experienced great preaching as a part of their spiritual formation and came to understand its power – both in the ministry of the church and in the lives of individuals and families.

The Montgomery family’s continued generosity allows us to keep this event affordable and accessible. We are profoundly grateful for their support.
