Health & Safety Protocols
We will be continuously evaluating our health protocols and making updates as medical recommendations evolve. As we do, we’ll update this page so that you will know what you can expect at APC 2022.
We’re excited about getting together in June for an in-person trade show bringing together pork industry colleagues from across Alberta. The health and safety of everyone at APC 2022 are of paramount importance to us. We will continue to monitor guidelines for health and safety measures from the World Health Organization, the federal, provincial and local public health organizations as well as the host venue.
Please note that in order to attend APC 2022 you must adhere to all rules and regulations set out federally, provincially and locally as well as those of our host venue.
Westerner Park Policies
Our COVID-19 policy requires that all attendees will be required provide proof of full vaccination. Please note that masking in indoor event spaces (unless eating or drinking) will also be required as laws and regulations stipulate at the time of the event.
In response to the Alberta government declaring a state of public health emergency, Westerner Park has implemented the Restrictions Exemption Program, which requires one of the following for all people aged 12 and older:
- Proof of COVID-19 double-vaccination (completed at least 14 days from an event's start date)
- Negative COVID-19 PCR or rapid test, from a privately-paid testing provider, completed within 72 hours of an event’s start time
- Formal documentation of a medical exemption as defined on the Alberta government's COVID-19 public health actions | Alberta.ca site.
Masks will also be required in compliance with Alberta Health Services guidelines. Anyone unable to wear a mask due to an approved medical condition will be asked to provide their medical exception letter (visit Alberta mask requirements for details).
This program was implemented September 20, 2021 and will remain in place for the foreseeable future for all entrants of Westerner Park, including employees, contractors, volunteers, and event organizers & attendees.
Please visit their Safety Standards page for more details.
