Jim Martin is the current Director of Health and Safety for Pursuit Attractions and Hospitality, a global company with operations spanning Alberta, British Columbia, Montana, Alaska, and Iceland. For the past six years, James has overseen health, safety, and risk management across Pursuit’s Canadian operations, which are best known for iconic destinations such as the Banff Gondola, Columbia Icefields, and the renowned lodging and boating experiences in Banff, Jasper, Maligne Lake, and Lake Minnewanka.
Before joining Pursuit, James dedicated 25 years to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), where he played a key role in numerous critical incident responses. His experience includes high-profile events such as the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, G8 Summits, the Pine Lake Disaster, the CN Wabamun Derailment, and the Fort McMurray Wildfire, where he contributed in a contract capacity.
With a strong background in emergency management, risk mitigation, and operational safety, James brings a wealth of expertise to ensuring the well-being of guests and staff at Pursuit’s world-class destinations.
