S3. Roy Hyndman, a Canadian Pillar Geophysical Research: Studies of the Lithosphere and Plate Boundaries

In commemoration of the distinguished career and lasting influence of the late Dr. Roy D. Hyndman in the field of Earth science, we extend an invitation for submissions to this session in honour of his distinguished career. Dr. Hyndman's extensive multidisciplinary research and scientific leadership have left an indelible mark on the global landscape of Earth science. Submissions are encouraged to focus on geophysical studies pertaining to the structure and dynamics of the lithosphere and plate boundaries, particularly those inspired by Dr. Hyndman's seminal contributions. We welcome a range of submissions, including reviews and original research unveiling novel findings. The objective is to hold a session that mirrors the essence of his research, transcending traditional boundaries and embodying the interdisciplinary spirit that he championed, by crossing "the boundaries of land and ocean, geology and geophysics, and fundamental research and societal needs" (quote from the citation for his 2017 Geological Association of Canada Logan Medal).
