B3. Canadian biogeoscience research in the food-water-energy nexus

This session will feature contributions from members of our section in the forthcoming FACETS Collection showcasing emerging Canadian biogeoscience research under the broad umbrella of the Food-Water-Energy Nexus. With heightened pressures from growing population and demands for resources, competing land uses, and climate change, among other stressors, documenting how earth systems operate, identifying critical interactions between our food and energy production systems and water security, and considering how human behaviours can alter these functions are vitally important biogeoscience pursuits. Research that advances conceptual biogeochemistry and biogeophysics understanding and modelling capacity from regional to national scales, through long-term monitoring or new process measurements are welcome. While we hope to feature presentations for all contributions to the Collection, others with relevant work are also encouraged to submit to this session.
