Pat Malaviarachchi is a principal engineer at MDA. He has over 25 years of space industry experience in solution engineering, business development, program management, product management and systems engineering. Pat has expertise in all stages of the project life-cycle including mission creation, capture, design, build, test and launch. At MDA Geointelligence, Pat has held senior positions developing the RADARSAT Constellation Mission (RCM) for the Canadian Space Agency and MDA’s CHORUS mission. From 1997 to 2006, Pat was a senior engineer and AIT Lead for several robotic missions including Canadarm2 and Dextre, the 2-armed robot that operates on the International Space Station. He holds a number of patents in both Earth Observation and Space Robotics domains.
