Join Tonya Davidson on this walking tour that draws from her book on the social lives of the statues of Ottawa, Tours Inside the Snow Globe: Ottawa Monuments and National Belonging.  Monuments visited will include those in the newly re-landscaped Kiweki Point, in Major’s Hill Park, and on Parliament Hill. Participants will also be able to enjoy the incredible vistas of the many “Crown jewels" that line the Ottawa River. Offering many local and national histories, the tour will focus on how monuments produce significant places in the present, both for the locals of Ottawa and for those coming to visit the city as a showcase for the nation. Appropriate outdoor clothing, good walking shoes, and water bottles are recommended. You will also need to bring fare for the O-Train.
