This paper communicates about the new joint research collaboration between Polish and Chinese research teams in the field of chemical looping combustion (CLC), since the early results of the evaluation of the proposals have been already announced by the funding institution on the Polish side, and the final contract is to be signed very soon. The investigations will be carried out within the confines of the project “Multi-scale investigation of chemical looping combustion of biomass pellets towards negative CO2 emission”, which is going to be launched in the second half of this year, whereas the following tasks are scheduled for 3 years. Partners in the international consortium are Czestochowa University of Technology and Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa, Poland, jointly with Huazhong University of Science & Technology and Southeast University from China. The general aim of this venture is the optimization of construction and operation of CLC reactors, which finally results in improving the efficiency of both fuel combustion and CO2 capture. One of the main activities on the Polish side is to develop a concept of a novel fuel reactor – which is the subject of a separate paper submitted for presentation at this conference.
