Trip to Alberta Carbon Conversion Technology Centre (ACCTC)

Don't miss the opportunity to visit the Alberta Carbon Conversion Technology Centre (ACCTC), a unique facility built to research, validate and demonstrate prototypes, and mitigate the risk of carbon capture and utilization technologies. The facility is operated by experienced staff and supported by scientific experts. ACCTC is also fully equipped for research and development projects. The ACCTC is located next to the Shepard Energy Centre, an 860 megawatt (MW) natural-gas-fuelled power generation facility jointly owned by ENMAX and Capital Power. 

At the ACCTC, you will have the chance to tour the facilities, meet with experts, and will have the opportunity to evaluate new carbon capture and utilization technologies at a demonstration-scale using flue gas or concentrated CO₂ from the amine-based capture unit, which is also available for research and development purposes. This visit is a unique chance to learn about real-world applications and the future of sustainable practices.

This trip includes a 90-minute bus ride from Banff, providing a scenic journey through the beautiful Alberta landscape. After the tour, the bus will conveniently take attendees directly to the airport, ensuring a smooth and efficient end to your trip, or you can go independently from the airport station to Calgary Downtown for more activities in the city.
