Nandita Basu is a Professor and Tier I Canada Research Chair in Global Water Sustainability and Ecohydrology at the University of Waterloo. Her research examines how landscapes store and release nutrients and how these legacies shape water quality recovery. Using data science, process modeling, and remote sensing, she studies how climate and land use affect water quality and uses these insights to design improved watershed management strategies. She is an AGU Fellow, recipient of the Joanne Simpson Medal, and former Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Hydrology.
