Tyler is a PhD Candidate at the University of Waterloo, working with Dr. Chris Fletcher, where his research focuses on the validation and bias-correction of reanalysis-based permafrost soil temperatures in the Arctic. Tyler is interested in the impact that changes in snow cover have on permafrost, and how differences in parameterizations of snow cover in models can contribute to model uncertainty in permafrost soil temperatures. Tyler holds an MSc in Physical Geography from Simon Fraser University, where he focused on Climate-Carbon Cycle Dynamics, working with Dr. Kirsten Zickfeld.
