This plenary session will explore equity, diversity, and inclusion in the geosciences through research insights and community dialogue. The opening presentation, Who Leaves, Who Stays, and Why: Re-Examining Equity, Retention, and Career Pathways in Geoscience (Riddhi Dave), will highlight findings from a 2021 Women Geoscientists in Canada survey on the retention of women in the profession, based on over 300 industry responses, with results forthcoming in the Canadian Journal of Earth Sciences. The session will proceed with an open panel discussion on key EDI challenges and opportunities within the geoscience community and the Canadian Geophysical Union. All attendees are encouraged to participate, share perspectives, and engage in this important conversation.
