Erika is a Masters of Science student at the University of Ottawa who is interested in glacier deformation and its impact on iceberg distribution in the Canadian Arctic. Through the exploration of iceberg climatology in different Canadian waters, Erika hopes to better understand freshwater and ocean interactions as a result of glacier mass loss. She believes that by learning more about glacier processes and iceberg distribution, we can better understand how climate change is impacting our freshwater ice resources. Erika's research goals involve using her work to improve maritime shipping policies to support safe and sustainable ocean travel for Northern Communities in the Canadian Arctic.
