Join Cassie Smith, colleagues at EnviroCentre, and special guest speakers for an exciting cycling tour of the active transportation infrastructure in Ottawa’s central city area. Learn about the social, political, and historical contexts that have shaped walking and cycling in the city. Sites visited include the Rideau River active transportation bridge, NCC multi-use pathways, Hartwell Locks, Flora Footbridge, the Complete Street on Main Street, and Trillium Multi-Use Path. The tour will take place rain or shine; in the event of dangerous weather conditions, the tour will be postponed or cancelled depending on the availability of EnviroCentre staff (please note that we are unable to provide a refund if the trip needs to be rescheduled on a day when you are unable to participate; a partial refund equivalent to approximately 60% of the registration fee will be provided only if EnviroCentre is unavailable to reschedule on May 22 or 23). Appropriate outdoor clothing and water bottles are recommended. Participants will be required to wear a helmet. You will also need to bring fare for the O-Train. A block of standard and electric rental bicycles and helmets has been reserved for the group with Escape Tours. Please book yours no later than April 29 by using the promo/voucher CAGESCAPE2510 at https://escapebicycletours.ca/book-bike-tour-rental-now/.
