Join Trish Ballamingie for a visit to the Just Food Community Farm, where people and projects come together to model and inspire small-scale, viable agricultural businesses and initiatives in the Ottawa region. This field trip includes: an interactive 'scavenger-hunt-style' exercise with Shelley Lambert of Forêt Capital Forest, codenamed 'Babimose' (meaning 'take a stroll' in Anishinaabemowin); and a tour of Chi Garden, a market garden specialized in organically grown vegetables, Asian vegetables and herbs, wild edible greens, and fermented vegetables. A delicious lunch of largely local fare will be offered by Chi Garden. Dress appropriately for the weather, with sturdy shoes for walking uneven terrain, and ideally, long pants that tuck into socks. Bring a water bottle.
