Date & Time

Description

This session explores how planning frameworks, governance structures, and funding mechanisms intersect with climate change, social inclusion, and urban resilience across diverse global contexts. Through cases from Ghana, Nigeria, Québec, and the Caribbean, presenters examine how communities and institutions conceptualize and respond to complex socio-environmental challenges. Themes include the syndemic nature of urban health and climate, participatory perspectives on sustainability, inclusion/exclusion in urban development, financing challenges, and normative frameworks in multilevel governance. The session highlights both the limits of current approaches and the transformative potential of community-informed, equity-driven policies.
