This session will offer a rich examination of the philosophical, methodological, and pedagogical dimensions of geography as both a discipline and a practice. Presenters will critically engage with the integration of qualitative and quantitative research methods, debates around geography’s role in interdisciplinary inquiry, and the ethical considerations of conducting fieldwork in post-colonial and global contexts. Topics will include pragmatist paradigms, spatial justice, experiential learning, geohumanistic approaches, and the implications of positionality in research. Through diverse case studies and reflective practice, this session will illuminate how geographic thought continues to evolve in response to contemporary complexities.
