Description
This presentation explores how gendered spatial knowledge and practices, particularly among Yshir indigenous artisan women in Paraguay, contribute to their territorial claim within a political ontological framework rooted in Latin American debates from multiple disciplines. Based on long conversations with them and years of experience working with land claims in Paraguay, I argue that women's practices, such as weaving textiles or making baskets, are often approached as merely reproductive domestic spatial practices or cultural tasks, and thus they are disregarded in claims and overlooked in analyses of ontological conflicts. In this presentation, I suggest approaching women creative doings also as sptaial knowledges and practices as part of the politics that make up space.
