My name is Keeley Powell, and I have worked for St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton since 2015. As a Mental Health Worker within the Mobile Crisis Rapid Response Team (MCRRT), my work has provided me with frequent opportunities to attune my professional acuities to fluctuating times and environments.

There are many challenges within this role surrounding systemic determinants and disadvantages toward private and public health and safety; however, I appreciate the opportunity to appraise, mentor, and confront societal inequalities and injustices through variable optics. Social work is a dynamic scope of practice that promotes social change, development, and empowerment of all people and communities. My goal is to contribute to constructive social change through pioneering means, learning, and unlearning how to navigate amid the divergent socio-economic structures.
