With over 30 years of experience in policy, advocacy and industry development work for a wide variety of economic sectors in Alberta, Darren Reeder is a vocal advocate for the expansion of the visitor economy and the meaningful labour reforms that will enable it to reach its full potential. He counts his achievements, among others, coalescing issues groups, coordinating advocacy campaigns and informing government advocacy efforts, leveraging the most current industry data. For 13 years, Darren led the Alberta Chambers of Commerce, succeeding in pushing for provincial fiscal reforms during the Klein era. Since then, he has been a tourism booster and advocate through his leadership of the Banff and Lake Louise Hospitality Association, and, as a strategic, governance and planning support to numerous other tourism organizations throughout the province. Darren was the driving force behind the Tourism Industry Association of Alberta’s creation, where he continues to serve as an issues advisor to the board.
